While this is a very uncommon occurrence, we appreciate that unexpected issues may arise; please do not worry. We are well prepared for all these possible setbacks to make your exchange AMAZING.

First things first, if you are having any issue, please let us know right away so we can start finding a solution for them. Whatever your problem is, please contact the AIESEC office in your host and home country
informing them of the situation (lack of meals, not getting the number of meals promised, quality of food, etc.).

Now that you have informed your AIESEC Host and Home office, they will find a solution for you, communicating with the organization or company you are working with. You are entitled to receive all you have been promised in the opportunity page when you applied. The Hosting Entity will ensure this happens. The same rule applies to the alignment you received before traveling, where your Hosting Entity should have informed you about everything related to your internship in more detail. If, by any means, a suitable solution is not found with the Company or NGO, AIESEC will offer a possible solution for you.

If you have to spend extra money due to these issues, rest assured, you will be reimbursed for those expenses. However, we require receipts or similar to guarantee said reimbursement; you can keep the physical receipts or take pictures and save them in a folder (this is also very helpful for keeping track of your expenses). Please note, It is a requirement for Exchange Participants to inform AIESEC offices regarding their exchange issues as early as possible. If you do not complain during your exchange about these inconveniences, you will not receive any potential refund.

We can conclude with two steps to follow, one, raise a complaint ASAP and two, keep track and proof of your expenses, we’ll do the rest for you!
