AIESEC is the biggest youth-run organization across the world. A global platform for young people to explore and develop their leadership potential. We are a non-political, independent, not-for-profit organization run by students and recent graduates of higher education institutions. Our members are interested in world issues, leadership, and management. As an organization, we don’t discriminate based on ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, religion, or national/social origin.

Global: AIESEC is present in all continents of the world. We have a global network that takes ownership to make the world a better place.
Non-political: AIESEC does not have a pre-defined or officially accepted political tendency or subscription.
Independent: AIESEC is not a subsidiary or dependent entity of any other bodies in its work. As an organization, we are free to set our own goals and pursue them.
Not-for-profit: AIESEC’s bottom line is to develop leadership in young people to have a positive impact on the world. We use our resources sustainably to generate more impact rather than making a profit for shareholders.
Youth-Run: AIESEC is entirely run by young people - most of whom are students and recent graduates.

Since we were founded, we have engaged and developed over 1,000,000 young people who have been through an AIESEC experience. The impact of our organization can be seen through our alumni, who are represented by businesses, NGOs, and world leaders, including one Nobel Peace Prize laureate, Martti Ahtisaari of Finland.

Why does AIESEC do what it does?

AIESEC's main objective is to engage and develop every young person in the world. The reason behind this is settled since its foundation, where the world was in a chaotic state after World War II. The founders believed that leadership was the fundamental solution and created AIESEC to achieve PEACE and FULFILLMENT OF HUMANKIND'S POTENTIAL.

How does AIESEC intend to achieve it?

By placing confidence in YOUTH as the key to unlock a better future, AIESEC believes that leadership is the fundamental solution and can be developed in anyone. By empowering youth, we can open the way for a more significant part of the population, which is generally not so involved in decision making, to become the change needed in their society.

What is AIESEC doing right now?

We are enabling young people to develop their leadership by learning from PRACTICAL EXPERIENCES in CHALLENGING ENVIRONMENTS. We do this through CROSS-CULTURAL EXCHANGES & by creating these opportunities.

Cross-Cultural Exchanges: AIESEC provides an opportunity for young people to work or volunteer abroad in non-familiar environments. This allows them to step out of their comfort zone and expand their worldview while contributing to their working community. Living such experiences enables people to build a better understanding of how to communicate and capitalize on diversity in our increasingly connected world.
Team Experiences: AIESEC members work in teams to create and manage these cross-cultural exchange experiences. This provides an opportunity for our members to live powerful team experiences and develop their leadership potential.
Inner and Outer Journey: We believe that young people learn best by doing and reflecting. The Outer Journey is the individual's interaction with the external environment. The Inner Journey is the internal change that happens within the individual. The combination of the two ensures that what someone learns from any experience will stay with them forever.
